SdSonoran Desert
A main characteristic separating this community from the adjacent Mojave Desert Scrub is rainfall patterns. The Sonoran Desert, also known as the “Colorado Desert”, tends to receive sub-tropical summer rainfall whereas the Mojave does not. Vast sandy flats and rocky hills challenge all plants to be incredibly water efficient.
