Landscape Architects & Garden Designers: Bernard Trainor Associates | Landscape Architecture - Pacific Grove, CA

This large, urban garden responds to this family's distinctive lifestyle.  Curvaceous concrete walls, a swimming pool, and a bocce court have been combined with unusual planting themes.  A contemporary outdoor dining courtyard showcases a lare collection of edible plants, while the swimming pool garden boasts a Frank Morbillo sculpture, architectural succulents, and kinetic restios and grasses.

The landscape is fresh and though provoking.  The owner, Andrea Testa-Vought, has written a recent article in Pacific Horticulture focusing on the garden's design process and its ongoing evolution.  Andrea is an avid and progressive gardener, pushing the limits of the garden as it thrives through the dry California summers with very little supplemental irrigation.

I'm taken by all of Trainor's work. It is great to see one of his projects so mature, and still so true to his vision.
