Valley Compost opened it's doors in 1986 originally as "Chris' Sand and Shale". "Chris" as the locals knew him, saw a need to recycle agricultural materials and opened "VC&T". The "Good Humus Man" is an actual caricature of "Chris". In September 1990, Don and Lissa Landry bought Valley Compost and expanded on it's idea of recycling agricultural materials.

Don and Lissa brought to the business some structure. The current roll-off service system was brought to the business by Don Landry as a way of keeping the outgoing compost clean and free of contaminants. This provides Valley Compost with a "Closed Loop" System of bringing the materials in. The tonnage increased from approximately 1,200 tons a year to the current 13,000 tons a year and increases everyday. Valley Compost incorporated in January 1992. Valley Compost markets organic compost, mulches, chips and topsoils. We have the ability to custom blend any materials that fit the customers needs. Our roll-off service system allows us to remove waste materials from our customers, recycling anything that's clean.
